In the plastics industry, Plastic Injection Moulding is the most common process used to produce plastic parts. The process produces a large volume of the same plastic product and the machines do it with a short turnaround time. The materials used in the process can withstand high temperatures and are crafted for a variety of products.

The fundamental steps in Injection Moulding are:

• Melting the plastic in the Plastic Injection Moulding machine
• Injection of molten plastic in hold at high pressure
• Cooling and solidifying the moulding
• Releasing the mould resulting in a
  plastic product that has a predetermined form

The predetermined forms are first designed by an industrial engineer or a designer. The process typically employs a mould-maker to create the mould; which is usually made of steel or aluminum.

This mould or machine considers all essential conditions to produce the product ensuring it’s end features.
